For those who want to reach in a few minutes the most popular places in the historical city center there is no better opportunity than the lunch break. At lunch time the city is less crowded by tourists and allows visitors to enjoy these attractions in serenity.

A few steps away from our department guests can find:

  • The Church of San Nazaro in Brolo, one of the oldest Churches of the city located in the homonymous square.
  • Guastalla’s Gardens are located in front of our university and are one of the oldest public gardens of Milan.
  • Ca’ Granda’s Treasures belong to  the exhibition funded by Ca’ Grande Policlinico Foundation. This exhibition includes several wonderful pieces of art, for instance, the only commissioned portrait by Giovanni Segantini.
  • The Duomo is one of the main symbols of Milan and it can be reached within 10 min on foot from our university. It is possible to visit the interior of the Church and visitors can go up to the rooftop by lift or stairs.
  • Palazzo Reale is next to the Duomo, and it was once the headquarters of Milan’s government; now it has become the site of many different exhibitions. Unfortunately, it is not possible to see all the exhibitions offered by the Palace in a short time.
  • The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a covered passageway between Duomo’s square and La Scala’s square, which hosts the homonymous theatre. The Galleria is the home of several luxury stores, bookshops and art shops, cafés, restaurants, bars, and even a hotel. Going into the Galleria visitors should also pay attention to the glass dome and the mosaics on the floor, including that of the bull: many people believe that if you spin around three times with your heel placed between the two hind legs of the bull, it will bring you good fortune.
  • The Church of S. Stefano Maggiore stores in its two chapels canvases and the bodies of some Saints.
  • Mercanti’s square is one the oldest squares in Milan and it was once the core of the medieval life. Guests can reach the square by strolling along Via Dante.
